Brenda Flockhart-Shanks is a Partner in the Patents Group at Pearl Cohen’s New York office.
Brenda has extensive experience assisting clients in strategically planning and prosecuting their intellectual property portfolios in the U.S. and abroad to meet their business needs. Her areas of concentration include patent prosecution, licensing, patent validity and infringement analysis, reexamination, and due diligence in corporate transactions. In addition, Brenda has been involved in all aspects of patent litigation, including, substantive technical infringement and invalidity analysis.
Brenda worked intensively with companies in a wide range of technological areas, including digital and analog electronics, plasma devices, computer logic, wireless telecommunications, internet systems, radars, lasers, optics, electromagnetics, electro-chemistry, motion control applications, benefits management systems, program management systems, change control systems, and defense systems, AI software, security software, enterprise software, data analysis software, magnetic imaging systems and devices, medical devices and software applications.
Prior to joining Pearl Cohen, Brenda was an associate at Proskauer Rose LLP, focusing on intellectual property law. Brenda was also a systems engineer at Raytheon prior to going to law school.
