Dr. Tal Rotman is a Senior Partner in the Corporate, M&A, Corporate Finance & Securities and Commercial Litigation Groups at Pearl Cohen’s Tel Aviv office. Tal is a highly seasoned and uniquely diversified attorney with extensive experience in M&A and financing transactions involving private and public companies, as well as in commercial litigation and class actions in myriad legal fields such as antitrust, environmental, consumer and securities law. Tal also serves as an arbitrator in complex commercial disputes under the auspices of the Center for Arbitration & Dispute Resolutions. In addition, Tal has distinctive expertise in sports law. He advises clients in sport-related M&A transactions and represents clubs and players in disciplinary hearings and in FIBA’s Basketball Arbitration Tribunal (BAT). Tal was an adjunct lecturer in consumer law at the TAU Faculty of Law, served on the board of directors of the Israeli Consumer Council and was nominated a member of the Israeli Antitrust Tribunal. Tal currently serves as a member of the advising committee to the Israeli Supervisor of Banks.
Tal earned his Ph.D. in contract law from the Tel Aviv University under the supervision of Prof. Ariel Porat, received his LL.M in corporate law from New York University as Hauser Scholar, and participated in the Disciplinary Program for Excelling Students in TAU, earning his LL.M in commercial law, LL.B and B.A. in accounting all from TAU. Tal has recently completed his M.A. in cognitive psychology in TAU.
Prior to joining Pearl Cohen, Tal clerked in the Israeli Supreme Court for Deputy Chief Justice Theodor Or, was a lawyer at S. Horowitz & Co., worked as a business consultant in the New York office of McKinsey & Co., and was the managing partner at Ron Rotman & Co. for more than 13 years.
