Five Eyes Agencies Issue Urgent Call to Action Over AI-Driven Cyber Threats

General / June 28, 2026

Written by: Haim RaviaDotan Hammer

The Five Eyes cybersecurity intelligence agencies of the United States, Canada, United Kingdom, Australia, and New Zealand, issued a joint statement on June 22, 2026, warning that artificial intelligence is rapidly accelerating the speed and sophistication of global cyber threats. The agencies emphasize that frontier AI models are shrinking the window between vulnerability discovery and exploitation, with transformation occurring in months rather than years.

The statement clarifies that cyber resilience must be treated as a core business responsibility and leadership priority, rather than a purely technical IT issue. Executives are urged to prioritize foundational practices, such as reducing attack surfaces and accelerating software patching, while also addressing the strategic liabilities of unsupported legacy systems.

While AI empowers malicious actors, the Five Eyes leaders also highlight its potential for defense, enabling organizations to detect vulnerabilities and monitor unusual behavior more effectively. To maintain market confidence, organizations must integrate “secure-by-design” principles into their core business strategy. The agencies concluded that those who fail to act now will face growing operational, financial, and reputational disadvantages.
