Dr Kelly Virdee-Crofts, Partner, Pearl Cohen London
It is with profound sadness that Pearl Cohen mourns the passing of our dear colleague and partner, Dr Kelly Virdee-Crofts, who passed away on 10 July 2025.
Kelly joined our London office in 2018, bringing with her more than two decades of expertise in European patent law. With a technical background in optics, she previously applied her knowledge at De La Rue, where she played a pivotal role in the creation of security holograms for the UK’s £5, £10, and £20 banknotes, a contribution that remains a notable part of her legacy.
At Pearl Cohen, Kelly was a deeply respected and generous mentor. She shared her vast knowledge with trainees and international colleagues alike, always with warmth, patience, and her signature sense of humour. Her guidance shaped the careers of many and enriched the culture of our firm.
A devoted Christian, Kelly also dedicated time to charitable work through her church community, where she pursued the Bishop’s Certificate in Discipleship under the Diocese of Southwark. Her faith and compassion were constants in both her personal and professional life.
Kelly’s presence, her wisdom, wit, and grace will be profoundly missed. We extend our heartfelt condolences to her husband and daughter during this difficult time.
May her memory be a blessing.
