Biography

Elizabeth (Liz) Dawson is a Partner at Pearl Cohen's London office and joined the firm with over 25 years of experience as a European and UK patent attorney. Liz is highly skilled in patent drafting and prosecution in a wide range of technologies for clients of all sizes, with an emphasis on electronics, communications, surveillance, medical devices and the automotive industry. Liz has significant experience in rendering infringement and validity opinions, streamlining patent portfolio transfers and conducting and defending oppositions. She also handles UK and EU design registrations.

Before joining Pearl Cohen, Liz was a senior patent attorney at Ipulse (London) and prior to that, Liz was a partner at A. A. Thornton & Co., where she advised clients on the gamut of intellectual property rights, including patents, trademarks, copyrights and designs. She is involved in the activities of the Chartered Institute of Patent Attorneys (CIPA) and the International Federation of Intellectual Property Attorneys (FICPI), interfacing with the European Patent Office and the UK Intellectual Property Office. Liz is also a member of the Committee for the European Qualifying Examination.
